News: What's coming up.
Age Grouper of the Week: The Juicinator sent through James Lawrence, Iron Cowboy as this weeks Age Grouper. Here's what Nick wrote: On January 1st he began a quest to set a new World Record for the Iron Distance Triathlons in 1 year. A quest that would take him around the world ( Oceania, South America, Africa, Europe and North America) on a 4,218 mile challenge (Swim 72 miles, Bike 3360 miles, Run 786 miles).
Since January 1st he has actually raced 18 races but can’t count Ironman New Zealand because it was changed to a 70.3 distance race. To compensate for the loss and make it 30 he added the Altriman iron distance triathlon in the Pyrenees. He still has 13 iron distance triathlons to attempt and finish. He will conclude his attempt on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in Palm Springs, California at the HITS Triathlon Series National Championship race.
As part of this world record feat, he is at the same time trying to raise AWARENESS and FUNDS for In Our Own Quiet Way to build water retention systems (dams) throughout Northern Kenya.
Interview: Nell Stephenson is a Kona qualifier, a three hour Marathoner, and AG winner in 70.3 events. As well as being a good athlete she is an expert on Paleo diet. In this weeks show she shares some insight on Paleo and also how she uses Training Peaks for nutrition. Check out her blog here.
John's History Lesson: In this weeks history lesson we look at the Ironman World Championships from the years 1995-2000.
