IMTALK EPISODE 305 - Hunter Allen

News: Results from Galverston 70.3 and Leadmen 125, Analyzing IM Melbourne's results and this week in Lance.

This Weeks Discussion: This weeks discussion comes from Drago Dzerve, here's what he said: There is a time trial start race here in the states that has more than 1500 participants each year.  Why can't we have time trial starts for the pro's in Kona or any other race?  Let World #1 start last and have them chase the crowd down or let them go first and let the chase begin.  Put in a 15M drafting zone and make it an individual sport.  If it is good enough for the Tour de France, why isn't it good enough for our sport? Comment

IMTALK EPISODE 303 - Justin Daerr

News: IM Melbourne is coming up this week and it has a great field, IM Cairns have 40 Kona slots plus there's a discounted rate IMNZ competitors, Michael Ralert racing Galverson 70.3.

This Weeks Discussion: Here's John's new Kona qualifying plan. Slack the championship events with slots but for championship events there is preferential entry for those that qualify. Eg in Asia Pacific there are now ~200 Qualifying spots across 5 events. John’s suggestions - Winner of each AG at each IM gets a Kona slot = ~24 slots/race. - Bump up slots at regional championship to ~120+ Kona slots. - Preferential entry for regional championship races opens one week before general entry for - 1. Top 10 in their AG at any ironman in the year before. 2. Kona Qualifiers from the year before. 3. The regional champs would move location from year to year. What do you think? Comment here
